Why FKST Still Ends in S: the UTC−3 That Was Summer Time
The territory once wintered on UTC−4 and moved to UTC−3 for the warmer months. The winter offset was dropped and the forward one kept, so the summer hour became the standard hour — and the S stayed on a label that no longer marks a season.
