The Kazakh UTC Offset After Unification

West won. Kazakhstan spent decades split between UTC+5 in the west and UTC+6 in the east, the divide running roughly down the middle of one of the largest countries on earth. Not without argument. The change was contested. Daylight Saving Time and a Clock That No Longer Splits
